Cincinnati head coach Tommy Tuberville has lost four of the last five games heading into their trip to Orlando to face UCF. Tuberville spoke briefly about the state of his team heading into the game with the Knights.
OPENING STATEMENT
It was a great game and thought we played better on defense, but we struggled in the red zone only scoring 3 points. Got better in some areas, go into the final three games needing to win.
ON STATE OF THE AAC
I thought last year our conference was very good from top to bottom and this year it is even more, more senior quarterbacks and guys making plays and a good representation of teams. We should have seven or eight and Navy is playing awfully well and we have work to do to get bowl eligible.
ON WHERE THE TEAM STANDS NOW
We've made a lot of improvements on defense. It is easier to play defense, it is about timing and effort. We lost our kicker before the season started, it has hurt us. Our return game has been good and we've needed to set a shorter field. We have not been able to move the ball consistently. We need to score points and make first downs.
