Yager re-commits to Bearcats

For Iowa Western C.C. OL Blake Yager, it has been a wildly eventful past several days since opening up his recruitment following the Tuberville news. Today, that ended when he committed to the Bearcats over West Virginia and Western Michigan among others.

Yager is all about relationships, and that has been clear since he first visited Cincinnati earlier this fall. What brought the Bearcats back into the thick of things was the decision to hire Coach Fickell.

Yager was on his official visit to Morgantown when the news broke about Fickell being hired by the Bearcats, and shortly after the hire was made, Fickell was on the phone with Yager, where Fickell clearly made quite the impression on him.

"We just talked football and family." Yager said on the conversation between himself and the Bearcats new head coach.

What led him to his decision to re-commit?

"Fick, the dude's a winner. No doubt about it. I will be signing Thursday and I could not be more excited to be a Bearcat and to play for Coach Fickell. I promise the UC you saw on the field last year you will not ever see again."

Yager is the Bearcats' third commit since Fickell took over, and will have the chance to come in during spring practice and compete for immediate playing time.
