Lindauer Flips To UC After Official Visit

It's funny how futures can change in just a few days. This time last week, Reitz Memorial (Ind.) quarterback Michael Lindauer was committed to Southern Illinois. He had been since July.

Last Wednesday, though, Cincinnati became his first FBS offer. By Saturday night, Lindauer took his first trip to see the Bearcats, for an official visit. He left that visit this morning and by the middle of the afternoon, Lindauer had a decision. He changed his commitment from the Salukis to Cincinnati.

Lindauer is the quarterback the Bearcats set their sights on after missing out on others recently. They offered South Florida quarterback commitment Jahquez Evans earlier today, but Lindauer was their top choice remaining on the board.

It's a decision that has Lindauer set to be behind redshirt freshman Desmond Ridder, but taking the place of Hayden Moore, whose eligibility is up after this season. For Lindauer, though, the chance to play FBS football was a big one.

"“I really love it,” Lindauer told BearcatReport.com. “Just the facilities, the campus, everything it had to offer with the city, it’s eye-catching."

Lindauer also had FCS offers from Eastern Kentucky, Austin Peay, Western Illinois and Illinois State.
