The wait for the new Bearcats Head Coach may be coming to an end in the coming hours. With Charlie Strong headed to Tampa tomorrow, unless something drastically changes, Strong is out of the picture.

BearcatReport sources are reporting that Cincinnati and Ohio State Co-Defensive Coordinator Luke Fickell are in contract negotiations to make him the next head coach in the Queen City, though at this time it is unclear when the deal will be complete.

Fickell has previous experience as a Head Coach, having taken over the Ohio State program in between Jim Tressel and Urban Meyer. Fickell has been at Ohio State since 2002, when he came onto Tressel's staff as the Special Teams coach.

Fickell won the AFCA Assistant Coach of the Year award in 2010.
