All in the family

Four years ago Steven Winston used Michigan's Camp as a platform towards exposure. Based on his performance there Central Michigan offered. At the time CMU was led by now-Cincinnati Head Coach Butch Jones.
It seems wants to keep dipping their feet into the same gene pool as the Bearcats are now pursuing Steven's younger brother, Evan.

"Cincinnati offered yesterday," said Winston.
Though Syracuse, Cincinnati, and Houston all offered in the last six days Winston considers UC a little special. They are not some strange men walking through the halls of Muskegon Heights High School.
"I am familiar with the coaching staff because they previously coached my brother at CMU," said Winston. "I camped at CMU since a freshman. And camped at Cinci with them, so I'm very familiar with how they coach."
If he accepts heavy input from his brother Steven, Cincinnati might just have that needed edge. Evan's older brother remembers 'Coach Strip' and Coach Jones fondly.
"He says, 'They are great men but even better coaches,'" said Evan.
The Bearcats like Evan Winston at defensive end, though they did not specify between strongside and weakside. Either way Evan would be tutored by Defensive Line Coach Steve Stripling who is beloved by his group. Current Bearcat stars like Derek Wolfe and Dan Giordano rave about Coach Strip's tough love and high expectations.
For now Evan Winston is taking his time.
"I really don't have any favorites," said Winston. "Just looking for a great team who is all about winning. I will decide before summer ends."
