3-star Fla. CB Rashaad Stewart commits to Cincinnati over Boston College

Coach Fickell and his staff have been working night and day on the recruiting trail in recent weeks since taking over last month. Coach Freeman and the defensive staff gained a major addition late Wednesday night when Rashaad Stewart made his decision public.

Stewart had previously eliminated the coaching staff during the transition, but once Fickell and Freeman reached out during the holidays, Stewart knew where his heart was.

"I actually told the staff on New Year's Eve, it just took a little bit of time to get some other stuff taken care of before announcing." He said about when he knew he wanted to be a Bearcat.

Stewart mentioned multiple times the impact Coach Freeman had on his decision.

"Coach Freeman really likes me, and sees me making an impact for the defense either as a CB or S. I can't wait to get to campus." He said.

As for the recent commitment of 4-star La Salle ATH Jarell White, while that didn't effect Stewart's decision, he is pumped that other recruits are buying into the movement Coach Fickell and Coach Freeman are preaching.

Having already officially visited the Bearcats under the previous staff, Stewart knows what to expect when he gets to campus, as well as a familiar face, if the reports are true.

"I actually met Coach Al Washington on my official visit to Boston College. Looking forward to having him at Cincinnati" he said about the Boston College DL coach reportedly heading to Cincinnati.

Stewart is the Bearcats' 13th commit for the Class of 2017.

Stewart will be studying Communication Design with a minor in Horticulture at the University of Cincinnati, and will be signing on National Signing Day.
