3-star Fla. CB and Purdue commit Dedrick Mackey hearing from Bearcats

Booker T. Washington CB Dedrick Mackey has had an impressive senior season, and with the clock winding down, it is time for him to put his full focus on his recruitment. Mackey, who committed to the Boilermakers back in August, had built up a fairly strong relationship with the staff, including one member who is now with Coach Fickell in Cincinnati, Marcus Freeman.

"Coach Freeman and I have a very good relationship going back to his time at Purdue, and last weekend I spoke with him and Coach Fickell" Mackey said about his relationship with Freeman.

Among other things, the main topic of conversation was getting Mackey up to Cincinnati on an official visit after the dead period ends next month.

"We were discussing possibly visiting the weekend of the 23rd, depending on how everything else works out. I'm really looking to feel the love while i'm there and to feel at home on campus." Mackey said about the timing of a visit and what would have to happen for him to potentially flip to Cincinnati.

Mackey maintains that he is committed to Purdue, and other then the potential visit to the Bearcats, no other visits have been planned at this time.
