Straus Looking for Offers
While (West Chester, Ohio) Lakota West junior safety Andrew Straus hasn't received any official offers yet, he has gotten plenty of attention lately. The 6'1" 197-pound Straus has heard from Cincinnati, Army, Ohio, Miami-Ohio, Vanderbilt, Ball State, Albany, Akron, Toledo, and Kent State.
Straus said he was pretty sure he would attend Cincinnati's summer camp in June if there isn't a conflict with some other camps he is going to attend. And, he has had a couple conversations with Cincinnati cornerbacks coach Kerry Coombs.

"I saw coach Coombs at Junior Day, and he called me last week and said he liked what he saw on the field," Straus said.
While Straus hasn't visited on an official basis yet, he was invited to a few games last fall as guests of the coaching staff. And he liked what he saw.
"I really like the facilities. They've made some great strides in the last couple years and the coaching staff is talking about how they want to win a National Championship."
An offer from Cincinnati would be welcomed by Straus and his family.
"I've been a fan of UC my whole life, so an offer from them would be great. I would like to stay close to home if I can. I'd like to play close so my family can see me play."
Another potential draw is the possibility of entering Cincinnati's business school or engineering program.
"I want to major in either business or engineering, so that would be another big reason to go to Cincinnati."
Straus has played some quarterback, receiver, outside linebacker, and defensive back in the past, but says safety is where he'd like to play at the next level.
"I've been working out with (former UC safety) Doug Monoghan. He's been putting me through some training and drills. He really knows what he's talking about and it's been a big help."
Straus mentioned he'd really like to start hearing from some bigger schools and is confident that will happen.
"After I go to some of these camps like Miami-Ohio, Akron, Vanderbilt, Ohio, and maybe Ball State, I'm pretty sure I'll be getting some good offers."
As for making a decision, Straus would like to get it all out of the way so he can concentrate on his senior season.
"I'd like to make a decision before my senior season begins in the fall."
