Black Victorious over Red in Scrimmage

CINCINNATI – The Black team, led by four double-digit scorers, defeated the Red Team, 62-52, in the Red and Black Scrimmage. Senior center Adam Hrycaniuk led the way for the Black Team scoring a team-high 14 points and adding three assists and two rebounds.

The scrimmage was part of the afternoon-long Bearcats Basketball Fan Jam at Fifth Third Arena, that started with the CHAMPIONS WALK and concluded with a player/coach autograph session.
The Black Team sprinted out to a 15-5 advantage in the first five minutes of the game and never relinquished the lead throughout the 35-minute exhibition. Freshman Rashad Bishop was the Black Team's second-leading scorer with 12 points followed by seniors Jamual Warren and Marvin Gentry, who each knocked down 11 points.
Sophomore guard Deonta Vaughn kept the Red Team in the game scoring a game-high 24 points on 9-of-16 shooting. He was also one of four players in the game to pull down a game-high six rebounds. He and Black Team guard Jamual Warren each dished out a game-high four assists each.
Freshman Larry Davis playing for both the Red and Black Teams led all newcomers with a combined 13 points in 30 minutes of action. He scored 10 of the Red Team's 31 second-half points and helped them keep pace with the Black Team in the second half, 31-31.
Seven-foot freshman center Anthony McClain finished the game with three points, a rebound and three blocked shots.
The Bearcats open their exhibition season on Halloween night, Oct. 31, with Northern Kentucky University at 7:30 p.m.
