10 On All-BIG EAST Teams

CINCINNATI – Ten University of Cincinnati football student-athletes, including six first-teamers, earned All-BIG EAST honors, the league office announced Wednesday.
The all-conference teams were voted on by the league's coaches.

Defensive end Connor Barwin (Hazel Park, Mich./U. of Detroit Jesuit), punter Kevin Huber (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas), cornerback Mike Mickens (Huber Heights, Ohio/Wayne), and safety Brandon Underwood (Hamilton, Ohio/Hamilton/Ohio State) were first-team honorees. Mardy Gilyard (Bunnell, Fla./Flagler Palm Coast) earned first-team accolades as both a wide receiver and kick returner.
Mickens was a unanimous selection to the first team.
Defensive tackle Terrill Byrd (Cincinnati, Ohio/Colerain), offensive guard Trevor Canfield (Cincinnati, Ohio/Western Hills), wide receiver Dominick Goodman (Cincinnati, Ohio/Colerain), and quarterback Tony Pike (Cincinnati, Ohio/Reading) earned spots on the second team.
The Bearcats (11-2) will face No. 21/19 Virginia Tech in the 75th FedEx Orange Bowl at Dolphin Stadium on Jan. 1. The game is scheduled to be televised nationally on FOX. Tickets are available by calling 1-877 CATS-TIX or visiting CATSTIX.com.
