Rivals250 has nine new names

The latest update to the Rivals250 for the 2011 class includes nine prospects that were previously unranked.

We take a closer look at the new faces in the Rivals250 and Rivals.com's recruiting analysts give their thoughts on why each of them deserves to be ranked among the top 250 prospects in the nation.

WHY HE'S IN THE 250: Tall, athletic lineman that does a nice job of getting to the next level. He has a great frame and very long arms that make him ideal for becoming a true left offensive tackle. - Barry Every

SCHOOLS: Simmons has a long list of offers and has visited Oregon, Iowa and Rutgers in recent weeks.
WHY HE'S IN THE 250: An athletic and active defensive tackle, Simmons gets off the ball quickly and has the speed and agility to make plays down the line and in the offensive backfield. He splits the double team so well with his first step. - Mike Farrell

Mason Highlights

SCHOOLS: Auburn, Michigan, Ole Miss, Penn State, Texas A&M and West Virginia head his list.
WHY HE'S IN THE 250: Mason is an elusive back who uses his speed to find the edge and then beat defenders down the field. He is not solely a player in space as he is also able to run between the tackles, as well as be a weapon in the passing game where he displays soft hands. - Chris Nee
OT Joseph Cheek, 6-7/271, Seguin (Texas)

WHY HE'S IN THE 250: You can't teach a lineman to be 6 feet 7 and have the frame to hold more than 300 pounds. He is very light on his feet while having the ability to get down field and block. - B.E.

WHY HE'S IN THE 250: Cooper is an undersized lineman who is effective with his snap anticipation, hustle and athleticism. He is disruptive, consistently gets penetration upfield and has a great motor that allows him to track things down all over the field. - M.F.
