Webster wins dunk contest impressively
Last weekend at the Inner City All-Star Classic, Gopher recruit Bryce Webster won the dunk contest putting on a show. He didn't win it over athletic guards and wings because they missed dunks like other big men have in the past, Bryce won the contest because he stunned the crowd with some excellent jams that had the people in the stands on their feet and players and fans on the floor running in to get a closer look.
Bryce's top dunk was looked on with so much interest, people were crowding the floor to get a better look. He had 5-foot-6 guard James Henderson get on his hands and knees in the middle of the lane and James was crouching even with the third block. Bryce then ran from three-quarters court and dunked with one hand as he glided to the rim from about one step inside the free throw line as he jumped over Henderson. For a man 6-foot-10 and 250 pounds to do this, it takes agility and Bryce did it with style. With Gophers Lawrence McKenzie, Brandon Smith, Damien Johnson and Kevin Payton cheering their future teammate on from the front row, Bryce dunked with one hand soaring through the air.
