Eagles want to make NJ's Pooler a DE

Linebacker Ben Pooler out of Morristown, N.J., Lawrenceville Prep continues to be in touch with the Eagles staff. Though he's in regular contact, Boston College may have trouble landing the 6-foot-1, 238-pounder because they are looking to change his position.

"I still talk to Jason Swepson, but he wants to play me at defensive end," he said. "That's a position I'm not that comfortable playing because I personally feel and my coach does too that I'm a natural linebacker.

"I wouldn't say it's a complete drawback for Boston College because I know they can make good defensive ends like Mathias Kiwanuka. He was a real good football player, but I'm not sure I'm that type of defensive end. I like linebacker more because I can change the game more and can roam."
