Decision soon for HI star
Honolulu, HI defensive end Lake Koa-Ka'ai has been taking visits recently to get his college decision finalized. Koa-Ka'ai is down to five schools with just a few weeks remaining until national signing day. The Oregon Ducks have made his final five and Duck Sports Authority recently caught up with Koa-Ka'ai to see if the Ducks are a serious contender for his signature.
"I've narrowed it down to five, Nebraska, Oregon, Stanford, Arizona and Colorado," Koa-Ka'ai said. "I'd say the top 3 would be Stanford, Oregon and Nebraska."
Oregon is still in need of defensive line commitments to help balance out an otherwise impressive recruiting class. At 6-foot-4 and 235 pounds Koa-Ka'ai has the frame and quickness to be a dominant player at the college level. When looking at his list of final schools one thing that stands out with each school is an excellent defense. Jim Harbaugh recently left Stanford to pursue a career in the NFL and Koa-Ka'ai talked about that and his recent trip to the bay area.
"It went really well and I had a bunch of fun. At first I didn't know much about coach (David) Shaw but after meeting him on my trip and learning more about him I think he's a good replacement. The team's not going to miss a beat next year."
