Larry Porter Continues to Roll, Signs 3-Star WR Jermaine Johnson
Larry Porter and the University of Memphis football staff have landed another premium wide receiver prospect, and they really hit the bushes to sign this one.
Sources close to his recruitment tell us that Jermaine Johnson, a 6'3", 170-pound wide receiver out of Louisiana, has committed to the U of M.
Johnson is an under-the-radar prospect who could turn into quite the find for Memphis. Johnson lives in Houma, LA and played for little-known Ellender High, a school with a non-descript football program. According to Louisiana State fans who post on a popular LSU message board, if Johnson had played for a powerhouse like Thibodaux rather than Ellender, Johnson would have been a household name. It is rumored that LSU was actually quite high on Johnson, though he never got an offer from them.
