ATH Campbell ready to visit

Torrey Campbell is ready to take his visits and then ready to make his decision.

The Naples (Fla.) Barron Collier athlete will visit Tennessee, Kentucky and Louisville next week and then the following week will be at Boston College. Soon after those trips the 5-foot-11, 180-pound recruit should be ready to decide.

The Eagles are certainly under serious consideration.

"Boston College has definitely been one of the schools that have recruited me heavily," Campbell said. "I love the coaching staff there. I can't wait to get up there actually. They've been recruiting me really hard so it's going to be good to see how the town and everything is up there.

"I can go up there and like it or not. I don't really look at it like SEC schools, ACC schools or Big Ten schools. I can't look at it like that. … As soon as I get done with the visits or soon after I'll make my decision. Those are the last visits I'm going to take."

Rivals.com rates Campbell as a three-star recruit after he finished with 552 rushing yards and six touchdowns last season. He also had 999 rushing yards and nine scores in his sophomore season.

When Campbell, who also lists Iowa with high interest, begins his latest rounds of visits the coaching staffs and the campuses will play big roles as he makes his decision. Facilities won't play a major factor because Campbell said all the schools recruiting him have nice football buildings.

Duke, Kansas, Maryland, Purdue, Rutgers, South Florida, West Virginia and Wisconsin have also offered the Florida standout.

"I'm going to look for the feel of the whole campus," Campbell said. "I'm not going to say the facilities are going to make a big difference because every school has good facilities but it's definitely going to be like how they help their athletes in the classroom, on the field, off the field and stuff like that.

"I'm going in it with an open mind. I figured if I go into it thinking I have a school out in front I won't give every school a fair chance so I'm going into it with an open mind."
