Injury forces Roland from All-American combine

Lake Highlands athlete Desmond Roland is one of the most versatile prospects in the class of 2011. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Roland is being recruited as a slot receiver by multiple colleges across the country but actually started at running back for the Wildcats last season, piling up 1,235 yards on 149 carries (8.29 average) and 12 touchdowns on the ground and catching 27 passes for 18.7 yards per reception and six touchdowns in the air.

Roland has already received four offers from Texas A&M, Purdue, Texas Tech and Arkansas and is looking for more as recruiting for the 2011 class begins to heat up.

He is also gaining significant interest from Texas, Oklahoma, TCU, LSU, Oregon, Wisconsin and Miami.
