Kevin Johnson has verbally committed to Cincinnati. He will join the Class of 2013.

You committed to Cincinnati. Why today?
I just felt like it was that time. I didn't even have to look anymore. I felt like it was the best decision.

Who were some of the people most supportive of the decision?
My mom and dad, Coach Bradley and AAU coach were all a big part.

How long has Cincinnati been recruiting you?
They have been recruiting me for a long time, trying to see every aspect of my game. I proved it to them. They have been loyal to me. And the offer just sealed the deal.

What do you have to improve to become a college basketball player?
I just have to get stronger, my shot get better, just an overall game. I feel like my game is good, but I can get better at everything. My overall game.

Who are you looking forward to playing with?
Definitely I will work out with Troy (Caupain). I am looking forward to him. I am excited about Ge'Lawn, Shaq, Jeremiah. I am ready to play with all of them. They are all wanting to win.

When did you know that you could become a college basketball player?
A year or two ago, when letters started to come in I knew I could do it. I have always been a hard worker. Once I started getting letters from the smaller schools I knew I could do it.

Today is also Kevin Johnson's 17th birthday.
