July 2, 2012

It seems that Cincinnati loses two tight ends every December. After 2012 the trend continues as Travis Kelce and Demetrius Richardson disembark. For UC to score serious points in 2012 Kelce will have to become a breakout performer. Based on the last year of practices Kelce does possess gamebreaker tendencies.

While Richardson does not expect to make the same direct impact few are better for team morale. Richardson celebrates every offensive touchdown throughout practices.

The 2013 football roster will be stocked with Blake Annen, DeShawn Dowdy, Josh Russ, and A.J. Branisel. Adding another tight end to the Class of 2013 would fit within the positional parameters, but hurt the team's capacity. You just can't overflow every position simultaneously.

Both Mack Weaver and Devon Edwards are experiencing heavy UC involvement of late. Tennessee and Vanderbilt recently hosted Weaver. Edwards could materialize into a defensive end, but Weaver is being recruited exclusively as a tight end.

Bearcat chatter surrounding Troy Fumagalli (IL), Garrett Hudson (FL), Tyler Polston (KY) and 3-star Matt Burke (FL) has died down tremendously since spring.
