Redmond finally able to visit officially
Mississippi State's longest commitment of the 2011 class is finally able to take his official visit to campus.
Three-star offensive tackle Nick Redmond has been committed to the Bulldogs for nearly 15 months and will be visiting campus this weekend before enrolling in classes in January.
Redmond will graduate from Harrison Central (Miss.) High School early taking his last class on Dec. 22 and will begin his college career at MSU in the spring.
"I'm a little more nervous about it than I am excited," Redmond said. "It's fun and it's going to be cool but it's going to be weird too. I'll be nervous because I won't know anybody up there."
Redmond is a former high school teammate of State first baseman Wes Rea but says he has only spoken to him once since he enrolled earlier this year.
The 6-foot-5, 312-pounder will select his course schedule for the spring while on his visit this weekend and plans to major in electrical engineering.
Redmond has visited the Starkville campus several times unofficially and likes the direction that head coach Dan Mullen has the Bulldogs heading in.
