A&M commit bringing teammate to camp
Denton (Texas) Guyer cornerback and Texas A&M commit Josh Stewart has the confidence that comes with being an all-district selection who had five interceptions last year. Thus, it wasn't a surprise in an interview last month when Stewart talked about not getting any attention from Guyer's offense during spring practice.
"It's just getting boring," Stewart said. "They're not even throwing to my side."
However, there was one receiver on Guyer's offense that got rave reviews from Stewart.
"Quentin Gardener is the only one who can catch the ball on me," he said. "He is pretty legit. He's 6-feet tall and he is an animal. He runs a 4.4 and is crazy strong. Colleges are definitely missing out."
If they were missing out prior to spring practice on the 6-foot, 190-pound Gardener, that is not the case any longer. He currently has offers from Iowa, Iowa State, Colorado State, New Mexico, Wake Forest and Minnesota. The Gophers were actually the first school to offer Gardener at end of last year's playoffs. Now, there could be another one on the way as he is getting a chance to strut his stuff at Texas A&M's one day camp this weekend.
