Small town RB big on recruiters' minds
Kirbyville is a small town of about 2,000 people near the Texas-Louisiana border. As with most small towns in Texas, the people there are passionate about their football and they have good reason to be after a 12-3 campaign in 2009 that saw Kirbyville reach the Class 2A state finals.
They also have reason to be excited about the 2010 campaign given the return of running back Fred Ford. Ford reeled off 2,567 yards on 255 carries and 35 touchdowns despite being lifted early from most of the games that he played in. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Ford is gaining interest from Texas A&M, TCU, Texas, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech. Colorado, Auburn and Ole Miss.
